Three Lakes Experience- Every Wednesday in July and August

Join us on a trip between three lakes and discover the villages beneath Mt. Stol in Žirovnica, surrounded by the Alps, meadows and forests. The area is renowned for its exceptional literary, beekeeping and archaeological heritage, which you can experience in one of museums along the Žirovnica Path of Cultural Heritage.

Wednesday’s Three Lakes Experience will take you around Lake Bled to River Camping Bled and Camp Šobec, past the famous village of Vrba to the green valley of Završnica and through the villages below Mt. Stol to Begunje and back to Bled.

Vrba is the birthplace of Slovenia’s greatest poet France Prešeren. His birth house has been converted into museum in 1939 and is renown as Slovenia’s first protected cultural site. The museum offers visitors a window into the life and times of this literary master, with its collection of 19th-century artefacts including France Prešeren’s cradle. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity and join us every Wednesday at 9.40am for a free guided tour of the Prešeren’s Birth House. In the embrace of forests and mountains awaits the hidden Završnica Valley with a recreational park by the lake, offering a numerous summer activities and hiking trails. The villages below Mt. Stol invite you to one of the oldest theme paths in Slovenia. Visit the Čop’s birth house in Žirovnica, and watch the light-hearted documentary film titled ‘There is No Fairer Place’ that takes viewers along the Žirovnica Path of Cultural Heritage. The bus also stops at Breznica-the birth village of Anton Janša, a pioneer of modern apiculture and the first beekeeping teacher at the Emperor’s Court in Vienna. Take a stop to learn more about Slovenia’s rich beekeeping tradition at the Anton Janša’s Memorial Apiary in Breznica. There are also numerous hiking trails available from the village-one takes you to an exceptional view point at the church of St. Lawrence.
